Playing up the slope in the first half, Falmouth created a few good chances but couldn’t find the net. Helston were awarded a penalty just before half time, which they scored in emphatic fashion.

The second half was a different story altogether, with Falmouth now playing down the slope. All the play was in the opposition's half, with some fine defending from United's attacking players keeping the team high up the pitch.

Two goals each from Nayte and Bertie gave Falmouth a 4-1 win to start the new year in victorious style.
